PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Tris-Borate-Edta Buffer Application Notes TBE running buffer is the most commonly used buffer for DNA and RNA polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. TBE is used with non-denaturing or denaturing (7 M urea) gels. It is also routinely used for DNA automated sequencing gel. TBE can also be used for agarose gels but is not recommended for preparative gels for recovery of nucleic acids. It is used to prepare a 1 X buffer for polyacrylamide and agarose gel electrophoresis. When diluted to a 1X concentration, it yields a TBE buffer solution that contains 100 mM Tris, 90 mM boric acid and 1mM EDTA. Applied voltages of less than 5 V/cm (distance between the electrodes of the unit) are recommended for maximum resolution. Usage Statement Unless specified otherwise, MP Biomedical's products are for research or further manufacturing use only, not for direct human use.
